Mineraluxe pH minus is applied to hot tub water to reduce high pH levels and Alkalinity. pH level between 7.4 and 7.8 is ideal. It prevents corrosion and scale-formation in hot tubs and swim spas, allows sanitizers to work more efficiently and is mainly responsible for the overall comfort of the water. Hot tub water with a high pH level above 7.8 should be reduced as high pH can cause scale formation in hot tubs.
When to use & how much:
- Test hot tub or swim spa water on fresh fill and as needed thereafter
- Apply as needed to maintain pH between 7.4 – 7.8
- Dosage rate is based on how much the pH is to be lowered:
- - If pH is 7.8 to 8.0 – use 6 grams per 1,000 L
- - If pH is 8.0 to 8.4 – use 8 grams per 1,000 L
- - Higher than 8.4 – use 15 grams per 1,000 L
- 1 capful = 10 grams (approx.)
- Never add more than 24 g per 1,000 L per application
How to use:
- Always adjust alkalinity first, before pH or calcium hardness
- Run pumps with air controls turned off
- Apply product by sprinkling slowly over water surface in one application
- Circulate for 1 – 2 hours
- Re-test to confirm proper pH or add more if pH is still above 7.8
- Do not allow pH to drop below 7.2 ppm
- Lower pH & Alkalinity slowly, max 10 ppm per day
