The Waterway PVC buttress for pool and hot tub plumbing has a 2" spigot (SPG) on one end and 2" threads on the other end. The 2" spigot end of this buttress is designed to fit inside a fitting referenced as a 1.5-inch slip with an actual inside diameter of 1-7/8". The 2" threads have an actual OD of 3". 2" Buttress thread only works with 2" buttress thread unions, not compatible with FPT fittings. It's important to note that in the pool and hot tub industry, plumbing dimensions are referred to as nominal sizes rather than actual sizes.
