The Waterway hot tub pump union 400-5570 has threads referenced as 2” with an actual inside diameter of 3” and a slip end designed to fit over 2” PVC flex hose or fittings with a 2” spigot end. The slip end of this union is designed to fit over a fitting with a 2” spigot end or schedule 40 PVC pipe or flex hose referenced as 2” with an actual outside diameter of 2-3/8”. It's important to note that in the pool and hot tub industry, plumbing dimensions are referred to as nominal sizes rather than actual sizes.

Measure the Inside Diameter "ID" of your current "CLOSED" split nut or regular nut.
If it measures:
- 2-7/16" then you need a 1-1/2"
- 3-1/16" then you need a 2"
