Waterway Jet Diffuser History
Around January 1 of 2018, Waterway stopped manufacturing a wide variety of snap-in style jets. So, what do you do if your hot tub has these jets and they need replacing? If your complete jet needs replacing, Waterway still makes a silver directional replacement jet in each size.
However, if your jets are still in good condition and only the tabs on the back are broken, you may be able to simply replace the white piece on the back (called the diffuser). To figure out which diffuser you need, see our comparison list below.
Waterway Jet Diffusers
Waterway Cluster Storm
This small diffuser is typically used on jets with a face diameter of approximately 2 inches. They can also be used on face sizes of 2-1/4 inch and, very rarely, some 3-inch jets.

Waterway Mini Storm
This slightly larger diffuser is most often used for jets with a face size of 3 inch, 3-1/4 inch and 3-5/16 inch.

Waterway Poly Storm
These stepped diffusers are commonly used for jets with a face size of 3-3/8 inch, 3-3/5 inch, 4 inch, and 4-1/4 inch.

Waterway Power Storm
These diffusers are usually used for jets with a 5-inch face diameter; however, the whirlpool diffusers can also be used for this size of jet. The best way to determine this is to have a look at the back of your existing jet to see which one is required.

Waterway Whirlpool Diffusers
Whirlpool diffusers also typically have jets with a 5-inch face diameter; however, these jets move a lot more water than a power storm jet, so they are often found in the footwell area. Usually, there would be at most 1-2 whirlpool jets in a hot tub.

Final Waterway Jet Diffuser Tips
When replacing diffusers, keep in mind that Waterway brand diffusers will only fit Waterway brand jets. Some other jet manufacturers make jets which look very similar but are not cross-compatible. If you need help determining which diffusers or brand of jets you require, send pictures of the back of your existing jet(s) to Pool and Hot Tub Depot by emailing them at info@poolandhottubdepot.com.
